J9's Anniversary Party Snapshots

So, if you were around me at all this spring, you no doubt heard about the big anniversary party we planned to celebrate our, Kearson's folks' and my grandparents' milestone anniversaries. The idea started out with Kearson and I thinking we'd like to do something special for our 10th anniversary. We were thinking Seattle, but when we figured out the other big anniversaries that year, we moved the party to Spokane. Lot's of family and friends were able to attend. Here are some of the pictures Kearson and I took. Those who attended, if you'd like to share any other photos, please send them to me and I'll post them! Also, be sure to check out the professional photos that were taken.

The invitation, which I made myself (isn't photoshop cool?)! Special thanks to Lane for helping me adjust it for printing.

View of the party from the deck at my folk's house. We had gorgeous weather - though it was pretty hot. Check out Mom and Dad in the lower right - don't they look great in their party attire? (Grandma helped Mom pick her outfit. She even got NEW SHOES - very nearly a miracle if you know Mom. :)

Mom went all out on desserts and got a cake for each of the couples. They tasted as good as they looked!! Here's our cake - a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Mmmm...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Makes me sing the cake song - La-La, Cake! The sunshine inscription alludes to my affinity for the sun - one of the reasons I love Austin so much!

Mom took this photo of me and Kearson, and I think someone else was snapping a shot at the same time which is why we're not both looking at the same place (where's Dana to direct the photography when you need her?). Wow - 10 years!!!

Apple cake for Mike and Marion. "So Happy Together" is their song. Who's it by, Marion?? That's right, the Turtles! :)

Mike and Marion - 35 years!!!

Grandma and Grandpa's cake was a tuxedo cake. Their inscription comes from the evaluations they got at the company where they met: guess who got the "Excellent" and who got the "Very Good"!

Grandma and Grandpa dancing at their 65th anniversary party - you just can't beat that. Seeing them enjoying themselves made all the planning and hard work worthwhile. I tracked down a copy of their song, "Springtime in the Rockies" for the dance. Grandpa has a beautiful tenor voice and sings this song when the family gets together to jam, it always makes my Grandma and my Mom cry. This is my favorite photo from the party!

We really had a wonderful time. Thanks so much to everyone who came and helped make the party such a special day!! Especially thanks to my Mom and Dad, and brothers and sisters-in-law for helping to pull it all off.
