Since we'd be roughing it at the float trip the next day, we decided to go out to dinner that night. Kearson got some great photos of Jamie and I all gussied up!

The pendant I'm wearing is a present Kearson got for me that morning just before we left Sandpoint. It's from Songbird Silverworks - a store I almost always stop in whenever we are there. Everyone in Kearson's family has at least one piece from there. He picked it out in honor of the coming baby. We'd just told both our families the good news and were breathing a little easier by now. We found out that the birthstone for February is amethyst, so this unique silver pendant has a pretty purple amethyst in it. I LOVE it and wear it all the time. My friends here in Texas are probably sick of seeing it! :)

Jamie and Maia, my niece. I can't believe how big she's gotten. Remember when she was just a baby?? She's quite a Sprite now, and keeps Mom, Dad and big brother Dakota on their toes!

For dinner, we headed out to Viljo and Autumn's restaurant - Syringa. They just opened a few month's ago and are flourishing. The cuisine is Japanese, with a Northwest flavor (Syringa is the state flower of Idaho). We're very happy for their success (and not just because of the free sushi rolls Viljo kept sending over!) :) Mike and Marion joined us too but I didn't get a good photo of the whole group.

Viljo strikes a chefly pose in the open kitchen at Syringa.

The restaurant has been extremely busy since it opened (hooray), so Autumn often helps out by waiting tables, hosting, etc. If you are in the area you should definately stop by for lunch or dinner! Directions and info are in this News 7 write-up.

After dinner, we headed next door to Anthony's Midtown Bistro for a nightcap. Owned by another of our friends, Tony and Michelle have been doing a steady business for several years now. Continental cuisine using fresh local ingredients keeps the locals coming back for fine dining and a great wine selection. They also have a romantically lit patio for summer al fresco meals, or in tonight's case, for kicking back in with the crew from both Anthony's and Syringa after a hard night's service.

I turned Jamie loose with my camera to get some photos and she surprised Kearson coming out of the men's room at Syringa.
