The 17th Annual Float Trip

We really had a good turnout for the float this year, though some key players were absent. Joe and Nora just had a baby and Tony and Michelle couldn't make it this time (we missed you guys!). Also missed seeing Kevin and a host of others. Despite the absentees, on Saturday I think we counted close to 40 people! Many of these were first-timers recruited fom the restaurants - it was nice to see some new faces! If anyone got a photo of the float itself - please email it to me and I'll post it!!

Unfortunately, someone had gotten a little chainsaw happy at our campsite before we got there, so there were a couple of trees down in the water and several more trees leaning rather precariously, half-felled, around the camp. It's kinda sad each year the site gets more and more abused as more people "enjoy" it. Leave it as you found it, people!!

Picture of the campsite this year.

Kearson kicks back to enjoy the fire. We had heard that the fire danger was going to be too high for us to have a fire this year. Thankfully, this was not the case when we got up there and we didn't have to gather round an empty firepit - would have made for some COLD evenings, let me tell you!

It's always great to see Ryan and Shannon at the Annual. This year (as last) they brought their son Wylie. He and the other "3 and under" set had a great time!

Jamie caught snacking by the fire after the float. You'd be surprised how hungry floating down a river for a few hours can make you, or maybe it's just all the fresh air!!

One last picture of Jamie and I before we had to head back to Cheney and then home to Texas. Until next year!!
