Before and after Kadian's arrival...

Here are some pictures from just before Kadian's birth and just after at the house, including some of the "projects" I had mentioned in her birth story that we worked on while waiting for her.

My mom and I making a "Baby sandwich"!

My hideously swollen feet. Can you see the "dents" in them where I'd pressed with a finger - it's a condition called "pitting edema". Little did I know I'd get even more swollen all over in the hospital!

Another swollen leg picture from the day after Kadian's birth. I think I had about a gallon of fluid in each foot!

For comparison, here are what my feet are supposed to look like! Note the nifty features like "ankle bones" and "ability to create space between the toes"! Also note that my toenails look like hell. Ah... Remember the days when I had time to paint my toenails? That was nice! Now I'm lucky if they aren't long enough to catch on the carpet! ;)

Kearson's Dad enjoys Valentine's Day dinner. Who'd have thought we'd still be waiting!

The delicious Molten Lava cake we made for dessert. I've decided I want this for dessert EVERY Valentine's day. It was SO GOOD!!

One of our projects was sprucing up the window seat area in our kitchen. We installed five corner shelves, and trained one of the plants I'd brought home from my office to frame the window.

We also finished sewing the bedding for the baby's crib. The mobile was given to us by my best friend from high school. It plays classical music as it turns; Kadian is completely transfixed by it!

Here I am lounging on the couch for lunch and catching up on my email. I miss having such a handy little tray! :)

Kadian was smiling from the day of her birth. She's got a great smile - just slightly crooked and totally delightful! Mom captured it just a few days after we returned home.

At home with Grandma...

A nice shot of "Kadian's Garden" that the grandparents and Kearson put in while waiting for the big day.

A totally unrelated, but extremely cute, picture of my niece that my folks took this winter. They had built a tunnel in a huge pile of snow so Lily could crawl through. Now you can see why we say we're not sure if Kadian has red hair or not - with Lily, my brother, and I it's such a bright red that there is no doubt. I think Kadian's, if it stays it's current shade is more of a strawberry blonde.
