Two months old!!

Kadian will be two months old in two days. Here are some photos from Easter and her Austin "Debut" as well as a few miscellanous shots of us just messing around.

John and Sondra hosted a get-together Easter weekend. Since the weather had turned unseasonably cool, she got to wear this super-cute winter outfit our friend Jackie got her. I LOVE that the little jacket has elbow patches - like a baby is ever going to wear out the elbows of the jacket!!

Kadian taking a break at the Easter party. Check out her tiny jeans. I was so glad that someone bought her "boy" clothes!

Of course, what photo op would be complete without a nice case of baby acne to go along with it?! Actually, we suspect that this rash, which has gotten much better since this picture was taken, is actually a reaction to something in my diet. Since cow's milk is the most common culprit, I'm currently abstaining from it. I'll add it back in a few weeks and if she gets rashy again, we'll know what to blame! Hopefully it's just milk and not dairy in general. A J9 who cannot have cheese is a SAD J9! Oh - I also posted this picture so you can see how the shape of the inside of her ear looks like a little mermaid's tail!

No special occasion, just trying on some wee embroidered jeans given by friend Trish! Once again - why do baby pants have pockets? For their cell phones???

Kadian in her "Noob" onesie checking out the laptop! For those of you who aren't giant computer geeks, "Noob" is shorthand for "Newbie", a gaming term that describes a beginning player. I LOVE her expression in this picture, don't you?

We threw a little party this weekend for all of our Austin cohort to have a chance to meet Kadian. Prior to this we had quarantined ourselves for the most part to give Kadian's immune system a chance to mature a little, so there were many friends who hadn't yet seen her in person. Plus, you know how long it's taken me to post pictures, so I'm sure some people were beginning to doubt we'd actually had a baby at all! Kadian wore a new dress with butterflies on it given by great-aunt Deb. Here she is with new friend Mira who is just 8 days older than Kadian.

Party fare including the cakes I made for the occassion. I think I ate about 1/2 cup of frosting in the process of baking and decorating the cakes!

Me and Kadian, Mira and her Mom Kristine. Kristine and her husband Ian were in our Bradley method prenatal classes and Kristine has turned out to be a great Mommy friend to share and compare notes with!

These awesome sunglasses were inherited from cousin Lily. Kadian really doesn't hate them as much as this progression of pictures might suggest - she was just tired of having her picture taken by the "Momarazzi". Note "The Lip" in the third and fourth photo!

My sister gave me this amazing sling that she had used with her daughter. Kadian LOVES to ride in it and falls asleep quite easily once we're moving. She just developed the head control necessary for her to ride face forward "kangaroo" style.
