  • 07.02.02: Meet our newest kitten, MacGuyver!
See more pictures below. We didn't want to wait long to get Viva a new playmate. Though I wouldn't call them "instant friends," Viva is quickly getting used to having a kitten around. She can hardly stand NOT to play with him, even as she growls the whole time! We are sure they will be buddies in no time.
MacGuyver is already living up to his name - he has even figured out how to open the fireplace grate! I would not be at all surpirsed to come home and find that he has constructed a high tech booby trap for Viva using only parts from the Bowflex and a piece of dental floss! We've promised ourselves we will only really love this kitten after at least 6 months. However, we may just have to reduce the requirement on that - by about 5 months and 29 days!

  • 06.22.02: Happy News! Our friends Viljo and Autumn were married last weekend!
We were so pleased to be able to attend the wedding which was in North Idaho at Farragut State Park. Autumn's dress was gorgeous and kudo's to her for deciding NOT to make it herself!! They served king salmon that Viljo had caught himself in Alaska as well as delicious Halibut. They also crafted a very special "I Do Brew" to celebrate the occassion. We caught up with many of our college friends and hope to see more of them at the Annual in August. We hope to see the newlyweds later this year if they make it to Texas. Congratulations, you two!!
While in the Northwest, we also got to see our families. Kearson got in trouble for not telling his Mom and Dad we'd be in town, but my folks let the cat out of the bag in time for us to meet them for dinner at Moon Time. We saw Todd Mo while we were there, but he didn't recognize us. Probably because were were totally out of context!
We spent Friday and Saturday night with Jamie and Mark (who are getting married in August by Kearson!) and had a great time getting caught up on each other's lives.
We were supposed to leave on Monday, but our plane was cancelled. So we got to spend an extra evening in Spokane on our anniversary (7 years on 6/24)! I must say that having a nice dinner with my folks and Chad to celebrate certainly beat our previous plan of celebrating over 2 bags of airline peanuts and gingerale!

  • 06.22.02: Sad News! As many of you already know, our kitten Wackenhut is no longer with us.
We are not sure if he had a bacterial infection, or if the cause was a reaction to his first set of vaccinations. He fought hard for over a week at the hospital, but could not recover.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the following folks:Kearson and I feel so lucky to have the support and friendship of these people. Our most heartfelt thanks to you all!!!!

    Wackenhut "Wacky" McNulty (March 8 - June 22nd, 2002).

Snuggler, climber, shy boy, belly spots, episodic "wacky tabacky" kitty. We will miss you very much our little wacky cat!
